Hood River is a small town, so we recommend flying into Portland, Oregon (PDX) which is about an hour's drive from Hood River.
The drive to Hood River is iconic, even for the Pacific Northwest. Along the drive, you will see stunning views of the Columbia River Gorge and the Cascade Mountains, as well as pass countless waterfalls and rock formations that are sure to take your breath away.
We strongly recommend that you book lodging ASAP as fall can be a very busy season in Hood River!
We reserved a room block at the Hampton Inn, though you are of course welcome to book any of the wonderful options in Hood River and the surrounding areas. There are lots of great AirBNBs and VRBOs in town in addition to hotels.
The quaint town of White Salmon, WA is right across the river from Hood River. We love White Salmon (especially the bakery) but please note that ubers and taxis are limited in the Hood River/White Salmon area. If you decide to stay in White Salmon, please plan accordingly to make it home safely.
We have reserved a room block at the Hampton Inn, conveniently located in the heart of downtown Hood River. It is a quick walk from breweries, restaurants, and the waterfront.
If you need dates outside of the block (10/11-10/13), please contact the front desk.
A favorite in Hood River, the best western has stunning views and is a quick walk from breweries and restaurants. Relax in the pool or grab a drink at the bar while taking in the sunset over the gorge.
The Society is an awesome hotel with a very pnw vibe on the white salmon side of the river. Even if you choose not to stay here, definitely check out their spa and hot pools!
