We hope you take some time to explore the incredible sights and wonders of the Pacific Northwest while you're here! Below are a few of our favorite spots.
pFriem Brewing
Our favorite brewery and restaurant in Hood River! Be sure to try the veggie burger.
Ferment Brewing Company
Fantastic beer and food, with an even better view of the Gorge.
White Salmon Bakery
A must-visit for breakfast and pastries! Grab a bite, then explore the charming town of White Salmon.
Timberline Lodge
About an hour’s drive from Hood River, this iconic hotel—featured in The Shining—is worth the trip. A favorite stop for PCT hikers, thanks to its legendary breakfast buffet.
Just two hours west of Hood River, the Oregon Coast is one of our favorite PNW escapes. Here are a few must-visit spots:
Cannon Beach
Home to the iconic Haystack Rock, Cannon Beach offers one of the most breathtaking views on the coast.
Short Sand Beach
Equally as stunning as Cannon Beach but much quieter due to the one-mile hike in. Fun fact: this was one of the locations for our engagement photos!
Gearhart, OR
Our favorite town on the coast and the place where we got engaged! Stay at the Drifthaven Hotel, an adorable retro B&B right in town.
Tillamook Creamery
A must-visit for any trip to the coast! Stop by for lunch and learn more about the PNW’s favorite cheese.
The PNW is home to four national parks, with the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) crossing through three of them!
Crater Lake National Park (4 hours south of Hood River)
The deepest lake in the United States, formed within the remnants of an ancient volcano.
Mount Rainier National Park (3 hours north of Hood River)
Known to Indigenous people as Tahoma, Mount Rainier is the pride of the PNW.
North Cascades National Park (5.5 hours north of Hood River)
October is the best time to visit! In fall, the needles of the Larches turn a stunning golden-yellow, creating a breathtaking landscape.
Olympic National Park (5 hours northwest of Hood River)
The largest temperate rainforest in the lower 48. Just be sure to watch out for vampires...
Our current home—we cannot say enough good things about Bend! It’s the perfect stop on your way to Crater Lake or just a great place to soak up a few more days of PNW adventure.
